Book ArtsWinter Home Book with Carrie Galbraith This workshop will concentrate on the creation of an artist's book that is focused on both place and season—home and winter. Using a predesigned structure, writing exercises, photocopies and various wet and dry media and other embellishments, participants will draw upon their own experiences to create a one-of-a-kind artist's book. Fifteen Books from a Single Sheet of Paper with c. j. grossman Ever get stuck not knowing what kind of structure to use for a simple book idea? Here's the solution: a little booklet that's ingeniously folded and cut from a single sheet of paper. You'll be amazed at how many structures you can create from a single sheet. Ethiopian Book with c. j. grossman The Ethiopian book resembles the ancient Coptic book but is made using a different stitching method. Using lightweight wooden covers and thread or cord to bind smooth paper, you'll create a useful book that opens flat for use as a journal, sketchbook or notebook. Mini-book Mysteries Revealed with Jocelyn Bergen Magically small in size, these charming book structures are like little jewels begging to be opened. First we'll cover variations on the accordion-fold book; then we'll consider and create at least one of several kinds of books: a star book, a map fold or an extendable Slinky-like structure. Fabric Covered Book with c. j. grossman Make a unique fabric-covered book to keep in your pocket or bag. c.j. will bring a rich selection of luscious fabrics, eyelets, cords and buttons- you may also bring your own buttons or paper-backed fabric. Once you've made this book in class, it's easy to reproduce at home. Spring Home Book with Carrie Galbraith This workshop will continue our concentration on the creation of an artist's book that is focused on both place and season—home and spring. Using a predesigned structure, writing exercises, photocopies and various wet and dry media and other embellishments, participants will draw upon their own experiences to create a one-of-a-kind artist's book.
