The Joy of Drumming

The Joy of Drumming combines a variety of rhythmic styles (West African, Brazilian, Middle-Eastern, Japanese) and percussion instruments to help people "find their own voice" and build confidence in their playing. We will focus on listening, layering rhythms and learning to improvise within the group's pulse. Open to all levels but especially geared toward those who have been studying different styles of world music and want to create their own beats and arrangements.
