Currently executive curator of Bedford Arts Gallery in Walnut Creek, Carrie Lederer has exhibited her own work in major arts venues and California museums.
Her complex paintings are inspired by fractals and botany; “I am drawn to nature’s intrinsic ability to reproduce pattern—as a source of imagery and also as a working process for my own art.”
Lederer’s recent paintings depict turbulent gardens informed by nature’s riotous beauty, or the deep space of our universe filled with a Byzantine intricacy of stars, snowflakes, and snowmen.
“My daily, up-close encounter with nature is the fifty-foot journey through our family garden, a spectacle of complexity—beautiful, simple, seemingly haphazard.”

Sculptor Jerry Leisure feels that contemporary ideas can still find expression in the crafted object. He fits various fancies, even some outright silliness, to what might be considered serious psychological portraitures.
Leisure has shown in numerous solo and two-person exhibits including Braunstein/Quay, the Bruce Vellick, and the Olga Dollar Galleries in San Francisco, and the San Jose Museum of Art.
Leisure graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in visual arts and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He also has a MFA from Washington State University.

Joy Broom paints and draws in an extraordinary style entirely her own. Her imagery ranges from precise botanicals to da Vinci’s faces to scary insectoid forms. Broom has shown in numerous galleries throughout the Bay Area and the West Coast. In 1992 she was awarded a WESTAF/NEA Regional Fellowship for Visual Artists, for Works on Paper. Her work is included in the DiRosa Preserve and Collection in Napa and numerous other private collections in the Bay Area. Broom has taught painting at Diablo Valley College for many years.
