Celebrating A Decade of Dance, Music & Song with “#Rhythmix10”
Rhythmix Cultural Works Marks Its 10-Year Anniversary with a Free Community Event
2017 marks the 10th anniversary of Rhythmix Cultural Works, a local East Bay nonprofit community arts center located in Alameda where diverse cultures come together to perform, inspire, teach and interact.
To celebrate this auspicious milestone, Rhythmix Cultural Works is opening its doors on Sunday, June 11 for a free afternoon event filled with fun, food, dance, music and song. #Rhythmix10 will showcase in quick succession many of our popular weekly classes including Bomba Percussion & Song Class, Buti Yoga, Capoeira with Professor Sumido, Cuban Salsa, ZUMBA with Lynda, the Beancounters marimba ensemble and more.
#Rhythmix10 is a chance for artists, creators, dancers, fitness enthusiasts, musicians, singers and arts fans within the local Bay Area community to mix and mingle within a laid-back, inspiring setting.
There will also be a special “10 Gears for 10 Years” awards presentation to our dedicated donors who have supported our mission over the past decade.
In addition to all the festivities, we will present an exclusive archive exhibit documenting Rhythmix ongoing evolution in local East Bay community captured through photos, video and other media. Opening on June 10 to September 2, Rhythmix 10 Exhibition explores Rhythmix’s inception as a musical ensemble back in 1999 to the organization’s 2007 grand opening celebration in its current home in Alameda and how we’ve grown as an organization over the past decade.
Looking back in 2017, so many amazing artists, dancers, musicians, singers and influential community members have contributed to Rhythmix’s successful first 10 years. It’s time to celebrate, give thanks and get ready for another 10 and beyond!
#Rhythmix10 is free for all ages. Donations are welcome. RSVP requested.
