CHELLE! & Friends

Music of New Orleans

Let the good times roll with CHELLE! & Friends! Inspired by the great New Orleans musical form of jazz, CHELLE! & Friends combine saxophone, flute, guitar, percussion, and voice, along with improvisation and rhythm to create a unique musical experience for all to enjoy.

Sharing the rich history of New Orleans jazz, and featuring a mix of blues, African, Latin, and Caribbean influences, CHELLE! & Friends deliver a stewpot of New Orleans musical gumbo that is sweet & spicy and will have you dancing to the beat.

Students will participate in call & response singing, clapping, and may even have the chance to try an instrument on stage!

About PAL

Rhythmix Cultural Works believes that exposure to the arts can be a transformative experience and a catalyst for cultural celebration. In support of this vision, Rhythmix developed Performance, Art & Learning “PAL” as an assembly-based youth arts education program in collaboration with the Alameda Unified School District. PAL fosters awareness of world cultures, celebrates diversity and empowers underserved youth through exposure to multicultural, educational music and dance performances. Since the program’s inception in 2012, PAL has served over 107,000 Alameda County students.
