Celebrate the artists – past, present and future – who make Art of the African Diaspora possible in this special online reception. Join Art of the African Diaspora organizers and 2020 Award Winners, Tiffany Conway, Fan Warren and Val Kai, as they share stories, images, historic videos and personal insights about the important role Art of the African Diaspora has played in the advancement of artists of the African Diaspora in the Bay Area art scene over the last two decades.

In partnership with Richmond Art Center, Art of the African Diaspora has supported artists of African descent in the Bay Area since 1997 through representation, professional development, and building a creative community. In 2021 Art of the African Diaspora is a hybrid online/in-person event with over 130 artists featured in the main exhibition online presented by the Richmond Art Center.

In conjunction with the online exhibition, artists and organizational partners are hosting open studios, artists talks and satellite exhibitions throughout February, March, April and May 2021.

Rhythmix Cultural Works is hosting the main reception for Art of the African Diaspora’s Richmond Art Center exhibition.
