Kim Thoman

Kim Thoman has been exhibiting nationally and receiving grants for more than 35 years. She has art degrees from the University of California at Berkeley and San Francisco State University and was an art professor in the Peralta Community College District for over 30 years. Selected grants include the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of Taos, New Mexico, Vermont Studio Center Residency Grant and Robert Rauschenberg Foundation Change Grant. Selected solo exhibitions in California include The Peninsula Museum of Art, Mendocino Art Center, Monterey Peninsula College Art Gallery, Stanford Art Spaces, Bank of America World Headquarters Plaza Gallery, John F. Kennedy University Art Gallery, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Artists Gallery, Virginia Tech University Perspective Gallery, Anderson Center for the Arts in Indiana, and Saint Mary’s University Gallery of Minnesota. Thoman paints and makes steel wall sculptures and embellished paintings that combine her paintings and steel sculpture. She also is an early user of 3D printing to make sculptures.
